Wicked Sniffer FAQ | Handmade Soap, Shipping & Returns
Shipping
How much does shipping cost?
Flat rate, $5.95, anywhere in the lower 48 states. No surprises at checkout, no math required. Just your order on its way to you.
What shipping carrier do you use?
All Wicked Sniffer orders ship via USPS from Pownal, Vermont. Orders are processed within 2 business days. Some products are made fresh to order, which means a little extra time before they head out the door. Estimated delivery windows are always visible at checkout so you know exactly when to start checking the mailbox.
Is my order insured?
Yes. All USPS Priority Mail and Ground Advantage shipments include up to $100 of insurance automatically. If your order total is over $100, additional shipping insurance is added at no charge to you. Your order is covered either way.
What happens if my package is lost or arrives damaged?
If your package arrives damaged or goes missing in transit, reach out to Wicked Sniffer first. A claim needs to be filed with USPS, and since the mailing receipt lives on this end, it's easiest to start the process together. Claims must be filed within 60 days of the ship date, so don't wait on it. One thing worth knowing: if your tracking shows "Delivered" but the package isn't there, USPS considers their job complete at that point. Porch theft and missing-after-delivery situations aren't covered by shipping insurance, so in those cases the best next step is to check with neighbors, contact your local post office, and file a missing mail search at usps.com. We are not responsible for stolen/missing packages.
Ordering
How do I place an order?
All orders are placed through wickedsniffer.com. That's where inventory is tracked in real time, confirmations go out automatically, and nothing falls through the cracks. If something is catching your eye, that's your sign to head to the site and grab it.
Can you hold a product for me?
Everything here is small-batch and first come, first served. Holds and waitlists aren't something I'm able to offer. When something sells out, it's gone until I decide to make another batch, and that timeline is never guaranteed. If something is calling your name, the safest move is to order it while it's there.
How do I know when something is back in stock or when a new product drops?
The email list gets first notice on restocks, new scents, and limited releases - sometimes before anything goes live on the site. Some things come back seasonally. Some things don't come back at all. Signing up is the best way to stay ahead of it.
Can I place an order through Facebook or Instagram?
Orders need to go through wickedsniffer.com so everything stays organized and you get a proper confirmation. DMs are a great place to ask questions, but the site is where orders happen.

The Soap
Does Wicked Sniffer soap contain lye?
All real soap does. Sodium hydroxide (lye) is used during the cold process soap-making process, but by the time a bar is fully cured and in your hands, there's no lye remaining in the finished product. What's left is a hard, long-lasting bar that cleans well and holds its scent.
What is cold process soap?
Cold process is the method used to make real soap from scratch. Oils and butters are combined with a lye solution, mixed until they emulsify, poured into molds, and then cured for several weeks before they're ready to use. The curing time is what most makers skip, and it's what makes the biggest difference in bar hardness, longevity, and how well the scent holds. It's more work and more time. It's also why the bars perform the way they do.
Does handmade soap last longer than store-bought?
A properly made and cured cold process bar lasts significantly longer than most commercial bars. Wicked Sniffer bars are formulated with oils chosen specifically for hardness and longevity, cured long enough to actually matter, and built to hold their shape and scent well past what most people are used to. Customers notice. A draining soap dish between uses helps too.
How do I make my bar last as long as possible?
Keep it on a draining soap dish between uses so it can dry out completely. Standing water is the enemy of any bar soap, handmade or otherwise. If a bar feels too large, slice it in half with a kitchen knife and keep a piece at a second sink. Every bar is designed to hold up, but a little airflow goes a long way.
How long does the scent last throughout the day?
Most handmade soap loses its fragrance long before the bar runs out. Wicked Sniffer bars don't. The scent holds in the bar from the very first wash to the very last sliver, which means every time you step into the shower, you get that full hit of fragrance you fell in love with on day one. That's the longevity story, and it's the thing customers mention most without being asked.
Is handmade soap good for sensitive skin?
Cold process soap retains its natural glycerin, which draws moisture to the skin and is often gentler than commercial bars that strip glycerin out during manufacturing. That said, everyone's skin is different. Full ingredient lists are on every product page so you can check before you buy, and if you have a specific sensitivity or question, reach out before ordering.
Are any of your products vegan?
Some are and some aren't. Full ingredient lists are available on every product page. If you're unsure about a specific product, reach out and Lindsay can tell you directly.
Are your products natural or handmade?
Every Wicked Sniffer product is small-batch and hand-poured by Lindsay in Pownal, Vermont. Formulas are developed with a focus on bar quality, skin feel, and scent longevity. Ingredients are listed on every product page.
